1 Million Cups Little Rock Launches Wednesday Morning; Entrepreneur Presenters Announced

LITTLE ROCK, AR. (April, 14 2014) – The first set of presenters at a 1 Million Cups™ - Little Rock event have been announced. SUMOTEXT President and Founder, Tim Miller along with Treatsie Co-Founder Jamie Walden will present their companies to engage, educate and connect local entrepreneurs. SUMOTEXT provides an SMS gateway and self-service campaign management tools to control SMS marketing and SMS giving programs via short codes. Treatsie provides an on-line high-end sweets destination that puts the local makers of artisan candy on the map. Little Rock is the newest location– and the 33rd nationwide – to host 1 Million Cups, a weekly gathering that is building startup communities over cups of coffee and conversation across the country. This weekly event is being hosted by the Arkansas Venture Center and Little Rock Regional Chamber of Commerce to engage and promote entrepreneurship in Arkansas. Community organizers Mike Steely and Jordan Carlisle were invited to attend the 1 Million Cups strategic summit held last week in Kansas City at the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation headquarters. “After getting to know and learning from the 30 other cities who have implemented 1 Million Cups, we are ready to make this event a cornerstone for the entrepreneurial community in Central Arkansas. It was inspiring to hear the stories about how 1MC has impacted local businesses in communities across the country. We are excited and honored to have this program coming to Little Rock.”

Beginning April 16th, the Arkansas Venture Center will host Central Arkansas entrepreneurs, innovators, founders and other interested community members at 9 a.m. each Wednesday at the Little Rock Regional Chamber of Commerce, 200 East Markham.
