Wayland and UALR Return Governor's Cup to Little Rock
The business school at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, headed by Dr. Jane Wayland, brought the Governor's Cup back to Little Rock when Drone Survey Solutions won the undergraduate competition as well as the audience-choice Elevator Pitch prize.
The statewide Donald W. Reynolds Governor's Cup business plan competition culminated in the champions luncheon Tuesday afternoon. The finalists for the undergraduate and graduate divisions presented 90-second pitches for the audience made up of business and community leaders from around the State.
Drone Survey Solutions Claims $25,000 1st Place Prize
The top prize of $25,000 and a chance to pitch for an additional $30,000 at the Tri-State Competition was awarded to the top team. DSS also won a $2,000 "audience-choice" Elevator Pitch prize for the best pitch.
The DSS team are alumni of The Venture Center's Fall 2015 Pre-Accelerator cohort which graduated in December of 2015. The Pre-Accelerator guides early stage startup founders through the process of testing market viability and creating a minimum viable product.
