The 2020 FIS Fintech Accelerator follows four highly successful programs produced by FIS and The Venture Center. This year’s Accelerator will be conducted entirely virtually and will include an additional six-week pre-accelerator, providing opportunities for greater collaboration and faster innovation for FIS customers.
In this series, we talk with FIS “Fintech Champions” who are working with this year’s cohort to help develop and bring their ideas to fruition. Here we feature a Q&A with Karl Asha, FIS product manager for the Code Connect platform and C4E (Center for Enablement, API Standards, Consistency and Governance), who is working with 2020 cohort member Cobbler Technologies.

1. What challenges do you see today that fintech solutions could address?
We are seeing increased demand in the financial space for rapid digital transformation and innovation. Hence the interest in low-code or no-code development, which drastically reduces the dependency on technical and development staffing to prototype and build internal and customer-facing applications. This approach empowers organizations to bring multiple assets and data together into a fully functional prototype or product, irrespective of technical competency.
2. What stands out about Cobbler Tech and its LeapXL solution and why was it chosen to be part of the 2020 FIS Accelerator?
The Cobbler Tech LeapXL platform allows financial institutions that are reliant on spreadsheets to turn data and formulas into shareable cloud-based web applications and real-time reports. The technology broadens the reach of products powered by the FIS Code Connect API ecosystem through a streamlined process of simply dragging and dropping cross-product functionality into a target application and workflow.
3. What do you hope to accomplish in the 2020 FIS Fintech Accelerator?
I hope to empower our customers to rapidly innovate while removing the technical and staffing hurdles to bring new products to market. Improving their day-to-day operations and their relationships with their customers through innovative technologies is my goal.
