VCWoman Achieve 2025 Mentee Spotlight – Anahi Burciaga

Name: Anahi Burciaga| Business/Profession: Owner & Founder, Authentic Mexican Coffee Shop
Please share a little about your background, personally and/or professionally.
I am proud to be a first-generation everything—paving a path where there hasn’t been one for me, my family, or my community. My passion lies in breaking cultural barriers, creating opportunities, and ensuring that the doors I open today stay open for those who follow.
Please share about your business, where it’s located, and what led you to starting it.
After being diagnosed with a gluten sensitivity, I had to change my eating habits, which meant giving up some of the foods I love most—especially our traditional and delicious pan dulce. It was a difficult adjustment, but it also inspired me to explore a new idea: creating gluten-free pan dulce!
This idea is very close to my heart because I want to bring the joy of our cultural traditions back to those who, like me, have dietary restrictions.
What goals do you hope to achieve for your business during your time in VCWoman Achieve?
Some of the goals I hope to achieve include developing a comprehensive business plan and strategy to ensure sustainable growth for my business. I also aim to expand my network by building meaningful connections with other women entrepreneurs and mentors, creating opportunities for collaboration and mutual support. Lastly, I want to enhance my leadership and operational skills, equipping myself to successfully navigate the challenges that may arise while running and growing my business.
Ultimately, my goal is to build a business that not only thrives but also creates a meaningful impact within my community.
What drew you to being part of a mentorship group specifically curated for non-men? How has being a woman or non-binary individual impacted your journey as an entrepreneur?
I was drawn to this mentorship group because it offers a safe space where I feel seen, understood, and most importantly, not judged. It provides a supportive community that empowers me to grow and thrive, both personally and professionally.
What are three things you enjoy doing outside of work?
What is your favorite part about being an entrepreneur?
My favorite part about being an entrepreneur is the opportunity to create and bring my ideas to life. The most rewarding part is seeing how those ideas grow and make an impact.
