About Heather Nelson, Co-Founder, President & Chief Operating Officer:
Recently named one of the 250 most influential Arkansans by Arkansas Business, Heather R. Nelson can be summed up in three words: passion, influence, and impact. She is an entrepreneur and storyteller who utilizes her unique experiences to connect people and inspire them to change the world around them. Through her many years of experience working in corporate America, serving on the board of directors for non-profits, and co-founding and operating her own entrepreneurial venture, Heather has experienced the highs and lows of leading teams. For nearly two decades, Heather had a storybook career in corporate lending for some of the largest banks in the nation. She shifted her career after the “success” left her drained mentally, physically, and spiritually. The opportunity to co-found Seal Energy Solutions in 2012 came as a huge surprise and in just under five years, their team had built a $6.4MM firm covering Arkansas and Mississippi. In response to Heather’s passion for storytelling and propensity for wanderlust, she founded her own consulting firm in 2018 to serve others through speaking, storytelling, and strategic planning - Global Headwaters, LLC. Heather’s background gives her unique wisdom across energy efficiency, renewables, project management, strategic planning, operations, marketing, writing, and business development. Heather is on the Arkansas Advanced Energy Association Board of Directors, Restored & Renewed Ministry Board of Directors, The Excel Center at Goodwill School Advisory Council, and the Arkansas Advanced Energy Association Distributed Generation Task Force. She also travels to Haiti regularly with The Global Orphan Project out of Kansas City, Missouri, championing global artisans to reduce the need for orphanages and economic orphans through job creation and economic development. Heather also actively gives back to her Alma maters having served two terms on the National Board of Directors for the Arkansas Alumni Association, the Walton College Alumni Society where she served as President and helped create the Molly Rapert Endowed Scholarship, and most recently on the Taste of Little committee for the UA Little Rock Alumni Association working to raise scholarship funds for students in Central Arkansas. Heather holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing Management with an Emphasis in Entrepreneurial Management from the Sam M. Walton School of Business at the University of Arkansas, and a Master’s of Business Administration from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. She is an experienced entrepreneur, speaker, writer, photographer, and strategic visionary. Heather’s chief motivators in her life are Jesus, her family, and her friends (whom she often refers to as her tribe).
