Greg Schaffer is a security, privacy and compliance specialist with a background in civil and criminal law to fashion strategic approaches to enterprise risk management. He specializes in legal/technical translations, cross-silo leverage, executive communications, regulatory liaison and consensus building. He founded First72 Cyber and continues to serve as CEO.
Greg Schaffer previously served as chief information security officer (CISO) for Fidelity Information Services. In this role, Schaffer had enterprise-wide oversight of FIS’ information security program, functions and initiatives. Schaffer is currently Chief Security Strategist for the Circumference Group. Prior to joining FIS, Schaffer worked for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, where he served as acting deputy under secretary for the National Protection and Programs Directorate (NPPD) and assistant secretary for Cybersecurity and Communications. Prior to the Department of Homeland Security, Schaffer developed and implemented an enterprise security and compliance operation for Alltel Communications.
Greg received his B.S. degree in political communications from George Washington University and his J.D. from the University of Southern California Law School.
