John Haley

John Haley has been the President and Chief Investment Officer at The Circumference Group LLC. since joined in September 2010. He has more than 30 years of experience in the information technology business.

John previously served as Chief Technology Officer of International Division of Alltel Information Services where his responsibilities included technology strategy and sales support, leading a team that used technology as a competitive tool to win business and improve customer satisfaction. He was also part of an 11-person senior management team that organized and managed the sale of AIS to Fidelity National Financial.

John also served as Managing Director of Asia-Pacific Region of Fidelity National Information Services Inc. As ASIA MD, he was responsible for sales, project delivery and operations for FIS’ Financial and Payments solutions in Asia. During his seven-year tenure in Asia, he grew the business in Southeast Asia and opened markets for FIS products in Japan, China, India and Pakistan, resulting in an 88 percent increase in revenues.

His career with FIS began when he joined Systematics. John was Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer for ALLTEL Corporation, where he was responsible for technology strategy and direction. He also served as Senior Vice President of strategic development with responsibility for mergers and acquisitions and business development. In 1996, he was named AIS Senior Vice President of Strategic Development, responsible for business development, acquisitions and corporate technology strategy. In this role, he worked closely with Jeff Fox, division president of AIS, in realigning and refocusing AIS.

John joined Fidelity in 1983 and has held a variety of positions revolving around the creation and management of software products for the financial industry, research and development, and technology architecture and strategy. In 1999, he joined the senior management team of Alltel as Chief Technology Officer, focusing on technology strategy and IT infrastructure. Between 1983 and 1996, he held a variety of roles centered on the creation and management of software products for the financial industry, and well as research and development and strategy. He contributed to the development of software products as a programmer, architect, development manager and ultimately as the leader of the AIS Client/Server Development Center.

John has analyzed, negotiated and implemented the purchase and sale of companies, developed and brought to market technology products, been responsible for the technology strategy for software and telecommunications companies and has managed a portfolio of venture investments.

He serves on the board of Canines, Inc. He earned a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of California at Berkeley and graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor’s degree in Arts and Sciences from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri.
