Serena Smith is SVP & Chief Client Officer within FIS’ North American Retail Payments division. She is responsible for all aspects of the international payments business at FIS, including global payments engagement, vendor risk management, risk and audit, as well as business performance metrics functions. She is also responsible for providing a consistent service delivery across all product lines within Global Retail Payments, the largest division within FIS.
Her passion for the industry started with her first job in a small credit union where she got a taste of what the banking industry is all about. Ever since she has been dedicated to providing a positive and consistent client experience for the customers she serves. In doing so, Serena has built lasting relationships with more than 5,000 clients and oversees a team of 500 client champions.
Serena also serves as the Norcross campus executive to 365 employees. As the local voice of the enterprise, she proudly drives local engagement and giving back efforts including her own personal involvement with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS), which has generated an overwhelming response throughout the company to the tune of nearly $1 million.
Prior to her current role, Serena served as SVP & General Manager of the EFT platform in Norcross and has held a variety of senior positions with FIS for the last 12 years.
She has received industry accolades including the 2013 International Service Excellence Chief Customer Officer of the Year award and led her team to win the International Customer Service Excellence Award for Division of a Large Company in 2013 and 2014. In addition, Serena won the bronze Stevie Award for 2014. She was named one of 2017's Most Influential Women in Payments by PaymentsSource.
