The Accelerator Program Manager ensures the success of The Venture Center’s Accelerator programs by actively recruiting and screening startups, ensuring day-to-day Accelerator operations are carried out, identifying and nurturing strategic relationships with partners, investors, and other key persons, and planning and communicating Accelerator program and events to program stakeholders. In addition, the program manager looks for opportunities to grow the program and gain better outcomes for participants companies.
The Program Manager maintains goods relationships between The Venture Center and corporate partner staff. The Program Manager occasionally works closely with VP and senior-level, corporate executives to identify/anticipate needs and communicate vision and solutions. The Program Manager, working in concert with the Managing Director, helps meet the corporate sponsors’ short and long term goals. The Program Manager works in collaboration with and under the direction of The Venture Center’s overall team to achieve these goals.
The Program Manager enables a partner-backed entrepreneurial innovation and startup Accelerator program. The Venture Center strategizes and operates accelerators that ensure entrepreneurs and corporations are competitive in rapidly changing technology landscapes. Understanding the power of entrepreneurial innovation, corporations partner with The Venture Center as a component of innovation strategy, to cultivate corporate entrepreneurial culture, and obtain access to some of the most exciting and innovative startups in their industry.

With the mission of establishing a sustainable entrepreneurial ecosystem, The Venture Center conducts a wide variety of entrepreneurial programming. From carefully curated local networking programs to large programs with international scope, The Program Manager will have an opportunity to flex their skills across numerous levels of exposure and engagement. All programs feed into our strategic, four stage growth process that provides a framework for entrepreneurs from idea validation through scale-up, and creates a roadmap to high growth, investable businesses.
The position reports to the Managing Director. This position is full-time.
Duties and Responsibilities
Work with other team members to build and execute Accelerator program(s)
Actively recruit early-stage companies and startups to apply to program online, using social networks, open source search, and utilizing other tools
Assist with screening of companies and founders
Collaborate with Marketing to develop recruitment & marketing plans
Manage entrepreneurs, set expectations, communicate weekly & daily agendas
In collaboration with The Venture Center team, design events and engagements for entrepreneurs to achieve specific outcomes
Maintain master plan to keep team aligned
Construct operational decks (presentations) to keep internal and external stakeholders aligned
Coordinate with partners to plan and execute public events
Construct Run of Show for engagements & events to ensure seamless execution
Develop long-term strategic plans and coordinate on execution
Stay informed on latest industry trends and technology applications
Develop and maintain relationships to improve deal-flow for recruitment
Identify new strategic relationships with partners and sponsors
Recruit and manage interns
Ensure satisfaction and retention of corporate partners
Resolve issues and challenges impeding the success of The Venture Center or our corporate partners
Strong interest in the discourse around technology, startups, entrepreneurship, venture capital
Comfortable with a variety of responsibilities. Assist with writing copy, developing promotional materials, coordinating with bank executives, managing program entrepreneurs.
Familiarity with and understanding of CRM tools
Intense focus on details while managing the big picture
2-5 years in fast-paced project or program management focused position
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
Willingness to travel - Position requires 5% travel
You are incredibly self-driven, organized and detail oriented
Calendar Management in a fast-paced environment
Willing to learn and tackle new problems - use initiative and creativity to find new solutions
Self driven but also a team player. Identify areas for improvement and take initiative!!
Experience as well as familiarity with the early-stage, venture-backed company ecosystem is preferred
Professional presentation and speaking skills
Experience interacting with corporate accounts and engaging with high level executives
Familiarity with the corporate and startup world and are able to act as a “translator”
Comfortable with a minimal amount of direction but high expectations
