Name: LaTrenia Ceasar | Business/Profession: Owner & Health/Wellness Educator, Kinetic Check Fitness, LLC

Please share a little about your background, personally and/or professionally.

I am a U.S. Army Veteran. I have a B.S. in Health and Wellness, I am a Certified Personal Trainer, Nutrition and Wellness Coach. I am currently working on my M.S. in Health Education and Promotion, scheduled to graduate in January of 2026. I opened Kinetic Check Fitness in 2023, with the goal to empower the mind, strengthen & fuel the body with evidence-based strategies in fitness, nutrition and wellness. I am originally from Dermott, Arkansas, married for almost 17 years and the mother of a beautiful teenage daughter.

Please share about your business, where it’s located, and what led you to starting it.

My business is mobile, I travel to my clients and I work with clients remotely. When I was about 35 years of age, I experienced what I called depression for the first time, I had an anxiety attack for the first time. At that time, I could not understand it. I was always pretty in-tune with my body, my mind. However, when I had this moment I was shocked. So, it lead me to the idea of educating myself on why the mind thinks they way it does when dealing with stress, depression and so on. At the same time, I found that exercising and eating the right foods made me feel good, confident, empowered. I decided to combine all of this new information and that is how Kinetic Check Fitness was born. When we move, we expend kinetic energy. We need to keep it is check through wellness strategies!

What goals do you hope to achieve for your business during your time in VCWoman Achieve?

I hope to grow as a woman and as a business owner. I am interested in finding ways to improve myself and I feel that having a mentor to help guide me, who is likeminded will help me to evolve into the woman I am still trying to be. There is a lot I don’t know about owning a business and presenting my self to my peers. One day I want to be my finished product. I feel that having a mentor is a part of my process to reaching my true potential. Hopefully one day, I can help someone else with what I will learn in this next year.

What drew you to being part of a mentorship group specifically curated for non-men? How has being a woman or non-binary individual impacted your journey as an entrepreneur?

I would rather have a woman mentor, than a man. Not that I am against men. However, I am a woman, and I feel that another woman can relate to me and understand me better. I love being a woman, and honestly, it has not impacted me in a negative way. I am happy in my skin, my soul and spirit. What drew me to this program is because in my 40-something years of living, I have not had anyone in my corner when in came to business, career and so on. I am excited for the opportunity as I plan to make some real milestones.

What are three things you enjoy doing outside of work?

I enjoy reading a good book! I enjoy to traveling and trying different foods from other cultures. I enjoy exercising.

What is your favorite part about being an entrepreneur?

My favorite part about being an entrepreneur is that I get to do everything that I love doing and own my own terms. The fact that I get to train and coach others in fitness, nutrition and wellness is icing on the cake!
