The 2020 FIS Fintech Accelerator follows four highly successful programs produced by FIS and The Venture Center. This year’s Accelerator will be conducted entirely virtually and will include an additional six-week pre-accelerator, providing opportunities for greater collaboration and faster innovation for FIS customers.

In this series, we talk with FIS “Fintech Champions” who are working with this year’s cohort to help develop and bring their ideas to fruition. Here we feature a Q&A with Scarlett Smith, senior sales executive at FIS, who is working with 2020 cohort member Dasceq.

We hope you enjoy hearing from the FIS Champions, and encourage you to schedule a visit to the FIS Fintech Accelerator at venturecenter.co/fis-vip-visit.

1. What challenges do you see today that fintech solutions could address?

The financial services industry is facing added expenses in order to keep up with the higher demand for collections activities. Dasceq can address this challenge by improving the collections ratios at the financial institutions, which reduces expense and collects more with less people.

2. What stands out about Dasceq and why was it chosen to be a part of the FIS Fintech Accelerator?

With Dasceq leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) into their algorithms, it was an interesting company to explore. Dasceq has re-imagined collections to optimize contact, payment, and treatment strategies on delinquent accounts. With the projection of collections on the rise, it made sense to work with them. For a real-world example, imagine having access to data that tells you a delinquent account never responds to emails or phone calls, but is most responsive through text. Knowing the best way to contact the account holder means quicker resolutions – plain and simple. At FIS, we are always looking for the most relevant solutions to address various challenges and he are excited to learn more about Dasceq and its capabilities.

3. How do you hope your involvement in the FIS Fintech Accelerator helps FIS’ clients?

I hope FIS clients will be able to benefit from expense reduction and increased efficiencies in their collections department. Making sure our clients can streamline their operations and serve their clients better is our top priority. By exploring technologies like Dasceq, this an important way to keep improving in this area.
