VCWoman Achieve Mentor Spotlight | Amy Pierce
We are so excited to introduce you to an ongoing series where we celebrate the success and achievements of the amazing members of Woman Achieve. Meet Amy Pierce one of our mentors!
The Venture Center: What inspired you to participate in VCWoman Achieve?
Amy Pierce:
I love the opportunity to work with a community of entrepreneurial women. Owning your business can mean spending a lot of time working independently. My female business friends are my first resource to when a unique problem arises. It’s an honor to expand that community to other entrepreneurs.
What value has this mentorship program brought to you both personally and professionally?
The VC Woman Achieve members come from across the state and across many different industries. I’ve learned about new businesses and at the same time it is personally rewarding. I have been able to connect mentees to industry leaders who should know these amazing women.
What growth have you seen in both your mentee and yourself throughout this program?
My mentee is amazing. She has taken years in government roles and turned them into a specialized business. She is navigating growth with structure all while trying to balance family priorities. I applaud her for working on that balance and focusing on the business infrastructure before actively seeking more contracts.
What advice would you give to those interested in applying for this program?
Go for it! You will gain a community of wonderful women, current cohort and alumni.
