We are so excited to introduce you to an ongoing series where we celebrate the success and achievements of the amazing members of Woman Achieve. Meet Chung Tan one of our mentors!

The Venture Center: What inspired you to participate in this program?

Chung Tan:

To offer my support or technical know-how to help our women entrepreneurs be successful.  If they are successful, that means that the communities they are in will be successful.

What value has the mentorship program brought to you both personally and professionally?

Personally, I came to admire these mentees for their resilience, courage, and efforts to follow their dreams.  Professionally, they have challenged me to learn even more.  I am grateful they gave me the opportunity to walk along in their shoes and to see/experience what they are going through.

What growth have you seen in both your mentee and yourself throughout this program?

The best growth is when the mentee and her business grow in the literal sense.  It gets me excited to see the ROI, to see the affirmation from the mentee that she is on the right track, to see the results when she tries new ideas, and not giving up.  I saw the growth of my network and through this expansion, I hope to be able to share more referrals with my clients moving forward and to maybe create new collaborative efforts/programs with this group of fine partners.

What advice would you give to those interested in applying for this program?

To go ahead and apply and stick with the program if you are selected.  The value you receive will be more than you anticipate.  You will have a team that will motivate you, support you and cheer on your success.  This team stays with you even after you complete this program.  Let’s raise each other up.
