Name: Warrenesha Arnold | Business/Profession: CEO & Founder, Nyarai Skincare

Please share a little about your background, personally and/or professionally.

I was born and raised in Marianna, Arkansas, and have five years of entrepreneurial experience. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Human Nutrition and Dietetics Candidate, Master of Science in Product and Innovation, and a Graduate Certificate in entrepreneurship.

Please share about your business, where it’s located, and what led you to starting it.

Growing up in an impoverished city, Marianna, Arkansas, Nyarai, the founder, began suffering from acne at the age of 12. She was conscious of her skin disease and suffered from low self-esteem for 10 years. She learned about plant-based foods and ways whole foods can treat acne. Instead of continuing to depend on dermatologists’ highly processed and toxic acne products, she decided to formulate products made from plant-based, natural, organic, cruelty-free, and eco-friendly earthly grown ingredients to reduce her exposure to toxic chemicals. We believe that plant-based products are powerful enough to treat acne. Thus, the birth of Nyarai Skincare was in June 2020. Nyarai Skincare is located in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

What drew you to being part of a mentorship group specifically curated for non-men? How has being a woman or non-binary individual impacted your journey as an entrepreneur?

As the founder of Nyarai Skincare, I was drawn to being part of a mentorship group specifically curated for women because I believe in the power of shared experiences and the strength of a supportive community. As a woman entrepreneur, I face unique challenges, such as breaking through societal expectations around leadership. Being part of a mentorship group allows me to connect with like-minded individuals who understand these challenges firsthand and can offer guidance, empathy, and practical advice. The group provides a safe space to discuss struggles and celebrate victories that might otherwise go unnoticed in traditional business circles.

What are three things you enjoy doing outside of work?

Exercising, Health Wellness workshops, Cooking new vegan meals.

What is your favorite part about being an entrepreneur?

The ability to bring a vision to life and have a tangible impact on people’s lives.
