We are so excited to introduce you to an ongoing series where we celebrate the success and achievements of the amazing members of Woman Achieve. Meet Marisa Cahill one of our mentees!

The Venture Center: What major changes has your company experienced throughout this year-long program?

Marisa Cahill:

Cahill Design has gone through some changes throughout this program including a name change from Cahill Exterior Design to Cahill Design! We started a new sector of virtual interior designs which has opened us up to an entirely new and untapped market! We have also added a part-time team member in March of 2023. This person helps us create virtual renderings. We are looking forward to the rest of 2023!

What value has this mentorship program brought to you both personally and professionally?

The VCWoman Achieve program has brought immense value to my business. Being able to connect with an expert mentor who is in my field has a number of advantages. Elizabeth has introduced me to many of her colleagues and other design-oriented people who I have connected with and done business with. Elizabeth has also been a wealth of knowledge for me to go to for marketing advice and just general business advice. I look forward to Elizabeth and I’s bi-monthly coffee or lunch dates!

What’s your favorite piece of advice that you received while in this program?

My favorite piece of advice that I have received from Elizabeth so far would have to be when she told me to always keep my options open. She said, “just because you think you and your business are headed down a certain path and you want it to go down this path, it’s important to keep your options open and not be closed-minded to certain opportunities!”

What’s your favorite piece of advice that you received while in this program?

The advice I would give to those interested in this program is to be ready! Be ready to change and adapt your business in ways you didn’t think was possible but also be ready for the work it will take  to grow and scale your business. Your mentor will put in the work but it is up to you to be ready to follow suit with the amount of work it will take.
